| You only get one big wedding (usually). Don't skimp on the important stuff. Dress, cake, flowers....everything else is negotiable... |
| We gladly accept: WE DO NOT PRICE CAKES OVER THE PHONE. Cakes are priced through email or in-person consultations only. Pricing is really based on the hours involved in cake design, baking, assembling, and decorating. The actual cost of ingredients is the least expensive part of your cake. The best way to give you an accurate estimate is to schedule a consultation. We can discuss colors, styles, and elements that you want to see incorporated into your cake. I can do a sketch, tweaking it until it's just right. When we come to an agreement about the cake you want, I can work up an estimate. The difference in a cake "decorator" and a cake "designer" is this:A cake "decorator"can put your designs on a cake and make it pretty. A cake "designer" can take those elements that are uniquely you and come up with a design that is spectacular. In other words, when you hire a designer, you are hiring their designing talent, not just their ability to put frosting neatly on a cake. This year we will be doing new designs only, not copies of cakes that have already been done. If you see a cake in a magazine that you really love and have to have, I am not the artist you need. If you want something that is different and exclusive of design by all means please call! Consultations are free and include a taste of whatever cakes I have on hand. Tastings that require me to bake particular flavors and prepare particular fillings/fronstings are $25 paid in advance-no exceptions. . A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to reserve your date Full payment is required 2 weeks prior to the reception date Delivery and set up starts at $35 for the Golden Triangle area with a dollar a mile added outside the Pt. Arthur/Beaumont/Orange boundaries. Delivery charge for The Brown Center and The Palms is only $15 based on their close proximity to my kitchen. There is a refundable deposit for any columns or separators used. Deposit size is dependent on what is used for cake setup. There is a 2.5% charge for credit/debit card & PayPal purchases Please figure on paying $3.65 and UP per serving if you want fondant work done. |

NOTE: A properly executed cake takes time... time to make the best fillings and frostings, time to properly support the tiers, time to fill and frost without creating "bulges", time to decorate it and make sure the frosting is smooth and the lines are clean. A cheaper cake is right out of the box with frosting right out of the bucket and fillings right out of the tube. If the inside of the cake isn't as important to you as the outside, then you can save some money by using a baker who does cake this way. We make almost everything from scratch and when we don't, we still "doctor" the mix so that it tastes homemade. We want people to say "this is really good cake" or "this is the best cake I've ever had". We also want to present the cleanest, most esthetic cake we can. This cannot be achieved by doing cakes "assembly line" style. We're not going to be able to do the designs you have seen on TV for the price you would pay at Market Basket or Rao's. While those cakes are done in an hour or less on television, in reality, they take 2 to 3 days... or more. So...if you have a really special occasion or wedding that you need a cake for, please do give us a call but please don't expect to get those fancy cakes at bargain prices or with special discounts. |
